John Peel's Record Box

John Peel's Record Box is a documentary film made by Elaine Shepherd, released on November 14, 2005 on Channel 4. It was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award.

It is about a small private collection of the British radio DJ John Peel who died in 2004 in the age of 65. His archive contained more than 100,000 vinyl records and CDs. This collection contains 143 singles - some of them doublettes - stored in a private wooden box representing some of his own favourites.

The film features interviews with John's wife Sheila Ravenscroft, radio DJs and artists like Mary Anne Hobbs, Sir Elton John, Ronnie Wood, Roger Daltrey, Fergal Sharkey, Jack White, Michael Palin and Miki Berenyi.

How to Crochet a Cat Lollipop Cover


Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Crochet hook
  • Worsted weight yarn (2 or more colors)
  • Embroidery floss
  • Tapestry needles
  • Plastic eyes
  • Glue
Step1
Decide what kind of holiday you want your cat to represent. Adding accessories to your lollipop cover like a red hat or orange scarf will help it represent the holiday you want it to.
Step2
Search the various free web-based archives for crochet patterns. A few such archives include Bevs Country Cottage, Smart Crochet and Free Patterns (see Resources below).
Step3
Look through the patterns until you come across one that is what you are looking for. Take into consideration the amount of time you have to make the covers and the difficulty level of the design.
Step4
Make your decision on which pattern to use based on your experience level and the level stated on the pattern. If you have just started crocheting you should consider patterns labeled beginner, but if you are an experienced crocheter you can use a pattern with any difficulty level.
Step5
Start your lollipop cover by chaining the amount of stitches the pattern calls for. Since it is a small piece it will be just a few stitches. Finish round one by slip stitching the end together.
Step6
Continue crocheting the cat according to the directions. Using a different color of yarn to mark the end of a round will help you keep your rounds even and keep you from being confused as to where one round ends and another begins.
Step7
After you have finished the body of the cat, use the instructions included in the pattern to make and attach the ears. You can probably skip the ears if you are going to make a hat to put on the cat.
Step8
Place the cat over a lollipop and add eyes, whiskers and a mouth along with any other accessories you might want to add.
